| Unity The Label: Headed by Franco-Italian designer JP Gassa, Unity was founded in 2004. While Gassa’s strength is in tailoring, his attention to detail is exquisite; unable to source the original jodhpur zippers of yesteryear, Gassa recreated the hardware for his current collection. The Inspiration: A mixture of European culture, modern classics, vintage clothes and military outfits picked up at flea markets in Tokyo, Paris, New York and Amsterdam. Influences also include photography, architecture and charismatic and elegant style icons from the music and cinematic world. The Look: A modern interpretation of military training, construction and details, the collection is a work in style using traditional fabrics in a thoroughly modern way. The signature look of Unity is its laser cut fabrics and unrefined edges. |
