Whether your a girly girl or a straight up tomboy, there’s a shade of pink for you. And don’t you know, pink is the sassiest colour (i-D Magazine, 2014). Channel the trend the START way in with pieces by Sophia Webster, Acne, Sophie Hulme, T by Alexander Wang and of course Mr. Start Woman.
See who came to celebrate the launch of our good friend, Ross Hancock’s beautiful new demi-couture collection, Le Ross!

Goodie bags were handed out to Le Ross purchases that included a Hemsley + Hemsley cookbook, mini Diptyque candle, a Cleo B travel wallet and Metcalfe’s popcorn.
The exclusive collection will be available to buy in store and online from next Thursday, but if there’s anything you’d like to know in the meantime please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call +44 (0) 207 033 3951. See you next week!
Fall in love with Sophie Hulme’s shearling monsters, Harrold, Maple and Ted, this autumn/winter. With their googly-eyes and cheeky faces, these three monsters have wriggled their way into our hearts and set up home. If you can bare to part with one of these critters, they make excellent gifts!
“ Start has always been special to me and Philip and Brix have always supported me. Being a neighbour and having once worked at START, like the name suggests, it seemed like the best place to start! ” – Ross Hancock
Inspired by a childhood spent travelling the globe, Ross Hancock, designer of contemporary demi-couture brand Le Ross, has always been captivated by the romance and rock ‘n’ roll world of fashion. Hancock’s undeniable talent was first revealed to the UK when he appeared as a contestant on Project Catwalk in 2008, and was established once again in 2010 as he became Esquires first ever best dressed man in Britain, highlighting his innate sense of style.
A true craftsman, everything Hancock creates is made entirely by hand, using only the most exquisite couture fabrics with a keen attention to detail, cut and finish. All his garments are cut using only a ruler and a pencil, no pattern blocks.
To welcome Le Ross to START, we will be hosting an event at our womenswear boutique on Thursday 9th October from 5.30pm – 8.30pm. Guests will enjoy delicious cocktails courtesy of Martin Miller’s Gin and music by the talented Louise Hayter. Ross Hancock will be on hand to introduce his collection, available exclusively at START. If that wasn’t enough the first 20 Le Ross purchases will also receive a complimentary goodie bag full of premium treats including a Hemsley + Hemsley cook book, a Diptyque candle, a Cleo B travel wallet and Metcalfe’s popcorn.
The exclusive collection will be available to buy in store and online from next Thursday, but if there’s anything you’d like to know in the meantime please email email@example.com or call +44 (0) 207 033 3951. See you next week!]]>

The nineties trend has been creeping up over the past few seasons, but for Autumn/Winter 14 style has hit the runways hard with the likes of Marques Almeida and T by Alexander Wang, both tackling frayed denim with an expert eye. While we’re referencing the nineties the look is still contemporary, it’s more a nod to the decade than a step back in time, which also means we can leave all the angst in the past too!

The Shoreditch Design Triangle 2014 is set to be the biggest street by street event during this year’s London Design Festival. In it’s 6th consecutive year, the event brings together a fascinating assortment of designers, stores, galleries, studios, cafes, bars, brands and one-off events for a week of design-led festivities.

Mayor graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2000 and moved to California where he began work as a design consultant. After several years abroad, he moved back to the UK where he became an East London local and continued his career as one of the area’s most innovative designers. Mayor’s designs have been shown at the V&A London, Rossana Orlandi Milan, FAT Galerie Paris and 21st21st New York.
Start will be hosting an evening of drinks and music to celebrate the union between fashion, art and design on Tuesday the 16th of September from 5pm – 8.30pm.
